What is your health and fitness story? Why has it become an important aspect of your life?

As a lifelong athlete participating in multiple sports through high school and continuing soccer at the collegiate level, sports and in turn fitness and exercise have always been a mainstay for me. I began to see the incredible impact exercise can have, both physically and mentally. Seeing this impact made me realize the importance of spreading this message to as many people as possible. Knowing the impact sports and fitness have had on my life, my goal is to spread the importance of physical activity to as many people as possible.

Why did you decide to become a personal trainer?

I became a personal trainer to best spread this message. Being a trainer gives me the platform to have a positive impact on people’s lives by providing the best information and fitness coaching. I also want to bring a different perspective than many trainers looking at ways to prevent injury as well as bridging the gap between injury rehab and return to sport competition.

What advice would you give someone considering starting a fitness program?

The best advice I can give is to get started now. It’s never too late, it’s never too early, and it may never like the “right” time. Make the jump, start seeing results, you won’t regret the decision!

What is your health and fitness story? Why has it become an important aspect of your life?

I have played sports and have been active my whole life, but my “why” for fitness could not have evolved more from my time playing basketball and soccer in school to now. While fitness for me used to be about hanging out with friends, enjoying my favorite sports, and competing, health and fitness have become more ingrained in my life than I could have ever imagined. I used to consider fitness a hobby – something I did when my schedule allowed. I’d go through “slumps,” and of course, we all have off days or periods of time. However, I quickly realized those “slumps” were often caused because I was trying to revolve my life around school, work, friends, etc. and trying to “fit” health and exercise in. I finally realized that my school, work, social life, etc. should be the things that I revolved around fitness. Health and fitness changed from being a hobby and a priority that I tried to schedule into my life to a value that I lived by day in and day out. After understanding this and making the commitment to implement health and fitness as a value, yes, I’m physically healthier, but more than that, I’m happier. I’m in a better state physically, mentally, and emotionally. In a world where we are being pulled in multiple directions all of the time, we need constants. Health and fitness is mine.

Why did you decide to become a personal trainer?

After I stopped playing sports, I kept fairly active. However, I had the wrong mentality. As stated before, health and fitness were simply things I tried to “fit in” to my life. When I made the necessary changes to my lifestyle, I saw tremendous results and more than just physical benefits. My anxiety decreased and overall mental health improved; I was ten times happier than I was before. I knew that I wanted to help others develop habits that allowed them to reap these benefits, as well.

What advice would you give someone considering starting a fitness program?

If you want to see a change, you have to take a step. After you take that first step, yes, you will have peaks and valleys, but you will at least be moving in the direction that you want.

What is your health and fitness story? Why has it become an important aspect of your life?

I have always been active and involved in sports but did not previously understand the benefits of strength training. I found my passion for exercise while going through my own weight loss transformation, losing over 140 lbs. With this ever-growing passion I am continuing my education, working on a masters in Kinesiology, to further my overall fitness knowledge and bring that into the fitness community.

Why did you decide to become a personal trainer?

I love being in the gym and want to share that passion with others! I want to help people grow their fitness knowledge and reach their goals.

What advice would you give someone considering starting a fitness program?

A fitness routine can be extremely beneficial to overall health. There is more than one way to train, I’m here to help you find what you enjoy and stick to it! Consistency is key!
